Aba House

Before I planned my trip to Ghana, I came across Cross-Cultural Collaborative, a non-profit organization near Accra that seeks to promote exchange and understanding among Ghanaian artists and artists from around the world. Aba, a former art teacher who has lived in both Ghana & Boston for the past two decades, runs an art center called “Aba House” for local children. Her program offers workshops taught by world and Ghanaian artists, and the children make and sell books to pay for school and supplies. A mosaic over Aba House reads “Creativity is Universal.” For my entire trip, Aba has helped me connect with other artists from all over Ghana who have accompanied me on trips and shared ideas about teaching and art.
